    The arrival of new Cabernet Sauvignon clones at Te Mata Estate marks an important moment in the long arc of the winery’s red wine programme. These young vines, now ready for planting, represent years of research, international collaboration, and careful intention, all directed toward the future quality and expression of Te Mata’s Cabernet-based blends.

  • Toby Buck joins the Vintners Company

    Toby is the first New Zealander (or Australian) invited to join The Vintners’ Company in London, a 661-year old guild institution. Even more special was that Toby got to share the occasion with John Buck, who visited from New Zealand to attend.

    After three years of development Te Mata’s new fermentation wine room is online. The project makes use of the latest fine wine technology available.

  • 2021 Mendoza Fruit

    We’ve been very lucky with these past few vintages. The reds will get a lot of attention. But our small-berried Mendoza fruit has also been an absolute star. The quality has been incredible.
