Begin your Te Mata Estate journey with a relaxed Discovery Tasting in the heart of this historic working winery. Soak up the atmosphere as one of our knowledgeable hosts introduces you to our winemaking philosophy and the stories that have shaped our wine estate. You’ll be guided through a selection of five Estate and Showcase wines, the perfect way to discover your favourites.

Showcase Tasting

Relax in the elegant Coleraine Room, overlooking the vineyards, for a guided tasting of our premium Showcase wines. Hosted by one of our passionate wine hosts, you’ll be taken through six of our finest: Cape Crest, Elston, Alma, Bullnose, Awatea, and the iconic Coleraine. Along the way, discover the winemaking craft, and the stories behind these modern classics. A must-do New Zealand tasting for anyone who loves fine wine.

Heritage Experience

Step into the legacy of New Zealand fine wine with our Heritage Experience. Begin with a guided walk in a nearby vineyard before exploring the working winery, each a unique blend of heritage and innovation. Your experience concludes with a seated masterclass tasting in the atmospheric Showcase Cellar. Savour six of our most celebrated wines, including the legendary Coleraine and a rare cellared vintage, all presented by one of our expert hosts. An essential experience for true wine enthusiasts.
