TASTING NOTES 2000
Bullnose Syrah 2000 is dark crimson in colour, has a gamey aroma with notes of smoke and rosemary, and a supple, rich palate of ripe blackberry with long firm tannins. It will continue to develop in bottle for 4-6 years from harvest.
Bullnose Syrah 2000 is a wonderful accompaniment to full flavoured dishes featuring red meats, particularly Italian dishes, and to soft ripened cheeses.

WINEMAKING
The grapes were destemmed, crushed and given a warm, plunged fermentation. The resulting wine underwent extended maceration on skins before pressing and malolactic fermentation. It was then run into new and older French oak barriques for 16 months’ maturation. During this time it was topped, racked and then egg-white fined prior to being bottled in October 2001.
VINEYARDS
Bullnose Syrah 2000 was made from grapes hand harvested from our Bullnose vineyard on the 18th and 19th of April 2000.
ORIGIN
Michael Morris and Peter Cowley, vineyard partners and old car enthusiasts, named this wine after the pre-1928 Morris Cowley car, nicknamed Bullnose due to its distinctive radiator. The bull emblem of the label is drawn from the Bullnose car’s radiator crest.
