1998 Bullnose Syrah is concentrated and supple. It has a blackish crimson colour, a gamey aroma with notes of cedar and allspice, and a ripe sustained palate showing characters of black olives, smoke, herbs and blackberries.

It has the potential to develop in bottle for 8-10 years from harvest.

1998 Bullnose Syrah is a wonderful accompaniment to full flavoured meats, Italian food, and cheese.

Following destemming and crushing the grapes was given a warm, plunged fermentation followed by maceration on the skins.

It was then transferred to new and one year old French oak 225-litre barrels for 15 months aging, during which time it was topped, racked , and egg-white fined.

It was bottled on the 3rd September 1999.

Syrah from the Bullnose vineyard was hand picked on the 24th March.

Michael Morris and Peter Cowley, vineyard partners and old car enthusiasts, named this wine after the pre-1928 Morris Cowley car, nicknamed Bullnose due to its distinctive radiator. The bull emblem of the label is drawn from the Bullnose car’s radiator crest.
